Account books (4 v.) of Newberry & Dole, a Chicago (Ill.) storage, forwarding, and commission firm run by Oliver Newberry and George W. Dole. The firm was established in 1831 and also carried on a sutlership at Fort Dearborn. Also included is a daybook of J. W. C. Coffin (1836 Feb. 10-Nov. 3).The volumes include the names of many early Chicago settlers and list prices and dates of sales of merchandise, loans outstanding, and postal transactions.
